Its lightweight and includes built-in automatic threader for the needle and the top drop in bobbin is essential for a smoother running machine. Let me explain why this is important, the hook movement rotates in a rotary fashion just like a car wheel (smooth) other sewing machines use a oscillating mechanism which would be more like the unbalanced movement of car windscreen wipers.!

This Singer Talent has 10 stretch stitches which are selected by turning the chunky dial, this type of stitch is used for all stretch materials of which there is many nowadays, e.g jersey and lycra. The dial also selects the button hole operation and regular utility stitches. Width and length can also be adjusted. Reverse sewing function is located in front of the user in a handy position just about the presser foot area.

Threading is no longer a dreaded chore because the easy to follow numbered thread path gets you down to the needle where the built in needle threader gets the job done in seconds.

The free arm allows using the machine for dolls or children's clothing eg. patches on knees, arm holes and other tubular sewing tasks. Accessories are located in a hidden compartment in the free-arm pull off bed.
