Full terms and conditions
We would ask that you pop a note in with the machine to explain what the fault and also a sewn sample of fabric showing the stitching problem.
Please also send the foot control and power lead, a bobbin case and spool with the machine. In the case of an embroidery machine where the problem is with the embroidery side of the machine, we would also need the embroidery unit and hoop. These are required to allow us to fully test before return. Don’t send the base and cover where a machine does not have its original box and original packing.
Our usual repair turnaround is between 7 days after receiving the machine into our workshop, dependent on parts availability.
Repair/service warranty covers only the items we have replaced or repaired.
If you decide to not go ahead with a repair, we will return the machine to the address first provided.
If you have not allowed a minimum 48 hours for us to book your collection, we will inform you as soon as possible for another convenient date for collection.
If we arrange collection and you are unavailable for the collection or you do not allow the courier to collect as agreed, you will be charged to rebook the collection.
If you have booked a collection and wish to cancel you must inform us 2 working days before the intended collection date, this it to allow us enough time to cancel the request with the courier company being used so that no charge is paid. If you don't notify us 2 working days before collection, we can still cancel the collection request but it will be to late to cancel this with the courier company and it will be charged a minimum charge of £11.
It is very important that the sewing machine is packed securely for transport by the carrier to prevent any damage in transit, ensure that packaging is sufficient and suited to the needs of the item being transported, It’s original box with original packaging is perfect. It is your responsibility to ensure the machine is packed enough to provide adequate protection while in transit. If we arrange either a collection or return, we are unable to insure the machine during transportation unless it has been packed sufficiently in its original box and original packaging.
On the return journey, we will use the same packaging as you first provided. We are not responsible for any damage due to packaging not being substantial enough to protect the machine during transport by a carrier.
Please see one of our images for a good example of how to pack your machine for transit if you no longer have the original box and packing. If your machine is delivered to us and on initial inspection is deemed by us to be insufficiently packed and it has received damaged in transit as a result of poor packing, neither ourselves and/or the courier used for the collection can be held responsible and we will be unable to claim for any damages, this may also increase the cost of repair and in the worst case scenario may damage your machine beyond repair. So we ask you please to ensure you take sufficient time and care to package your machine securely for its journey. Ensure fragile goods are marked as such.
Repaired 2 machines for me and did an excellent job. The price charged was very reasonable and the whole process was made as simple as possible. Would certainly use them again.
Couldn’t be easier to book a repair, even down to how best wrap your machine for transport. The courier collection is on a date that suits you and once it’s arrived you get a message to say it’s arrived so you don’t spend time wondering if it’s arrived safely. My machine is an old New Home and I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else to sort it out for me. I have my machine back and again I was messaged to say it was on it’s way very speedy service. My machine was working ok when it went in, it’s running great now so smooth and quiet. Would recommend anyone who needs a machine checked or serviced to use this method. Can’t say just how easy it is.
Thanks for a brilliant repair service. My 40 year old Singer is now working perfectly for a fraction of the cost of a new one. The collection and return service was excellent and David kept me informed of progress throughout. I would highly recommend this service and would definitely use them again. Many thanks.
I had to return my machine under guarantee. The charge for collection was reasonable and It was picked up when expected. Because of Covid-19 I had to wait over a month for the repair to be done, but the engineer was polite when I asked for an update and it was completed within a few days after that. Arrived back safely by courier on the day requested. Overall an easy and straightfoward process.
I would recommend Sewing Machine Sales. The machine was collected on the date I asked for and I could track the courier van. The service I received from the technician who looked at my machine was superb and he solved the problem. Sewing Machine Sales agreed to srevice my machine even though I don't have the original packaging which no other company would. My machine was returned to me in perfect working order and on the day specified. Again I could track the courier van so didn't need to stay in all day.
This company is excellent - has the whole repair process made easy, quick and efficient. From the picking up of the machine to keeping in touch and finally getting it back, fully repaired, to the customer. Great Service I would recommend to anyone.
Service excellent and my sewing machine received back in time stated
All round excellent service. From collection by courier to return delivery. Engineer David informed me of the problem which he fixed and how to get the best from my machine. Very impressed with a very professional service. Thankyou
Very pleased with the way Sewing Machine Sales handled my repair, couldn't have asked for a better service, I was kept up to date with what was happening and I son had my machine back and working perfectly. Very friendly, helpful and efficient service.
My machine required some attention due to some lint getting stuck, however they had my machine collected promptly by DPD and returned to me sorted. Good Service.
