SK280/SK840 Knitting Machine Needles for Silver Reed 4.5mm Standard Gauge Bed

Genuine Silver Reed needles to fit the 4.5 mm standard gauge knitting bed. It is the same bed as the popular SK280 & SK840 Silver Reed knitting machine, hence these needle will fit it.

You know what it's like when you accidentally bend a needle when your half way through a knitted jumper..! Thats why it's always best to have a few spare needles handy to replace any damaged ones quickly.

Made from stainless steel these original item are guaranteed to fit and form stitches very well, but please dont bend them when fitting..!

Simple to fit:
1. Remove the sponge bar.
Push a blunt end flat screwdriver against one side of the sponge bar.
You will see it protruding for the other side.
Grab that end securely and pull out the sponge bar.

2. Remove bent needle.
First close the needle latch.
Pull the needle towards you (as far out as it will go)
The rear (the end with out the latch) of the needle will be just protruding from the slot in the needle bed.
Grab that end and lift / slide the needle out. The needle will flex while it is being removed.

3. Replace with a new needle.
Replacements is the opposite as removing.
Don't forget while pushing the needle in to place it will flex, however it will return to its original shape.
If the sponge on the sponge bar has deteriorated, it will also need replacing. We also have the sponge for the sponge bars in stock.
