Horn 2011 Gemini Sewing Machine Cabinet
While courier companies are making every effort to deliver within a standard operating time frame, this is not always possible. Deliveries may be delayed. more info.
Very similar to the Horn Cub plus but with a more central work position. Not only that the Gemini has a folding leaf at the back which supports the weight of your project. It's ideal for longer projects such as curtains and quilts.
The Horn Gemini is ideal for the hard working domestic machine. You can increase the possibilities with your machine by reducing the workload simply by seating your machine in this purpose built cabinet.
Horn cabinets are fantastically robust an are finished to an exacting standard. Very sturdy solid built cabinets supported on heavy duty casters so the can be moved easily.
What I say is it the cabinet's not made by Horn then it is not the best so why would you settle for anything less.

What a fantastic sewing cabinet and it oozes quality. It's so compact and yet has plenty of storage inside for all your sewing bits etc. There is plenty of desktop space when you open it out and the back table is a bonus. The delivery guy was great, he called me 45 minutes prior to delivery to say he was on his way. He was very professional and had it out of the box and all the door furniture assembled in no time. He gave me a demonstration on the airlift and made sure I was entirely happy with it before he left. First class service
If your thinking of buying one then don't hesitate, this is the perfect size.
The sewing cabinet is wonderful. It is compact when closed and has loads of space for sewing when opened. The added storage is very convenient making any sewing job a pleasure. The delivery man was also wonderful. He was exactly on time and made sure the cabinet was in good working order. He also ensured I was able to use the elevation for storing my sewing machine before he left. I am very pleased with both the cabinet and the service from Horn furniture store.
This review is for a Quilters Delight cabinet and thought I would supply some detail as I would have really liked to have found one myself when researching a cabinet to purchase.
I ordered the Quilter's Delight in White and luckily the item was in stock so was happy to receive delivery in just over a week, although lead time given is 14-28 days. DH took delivery from the driver in my absence and helped with unpack and positioning as the table is very heavy. The Horn driver checked and tested lift etc. before leaving and was helpful and polite.
This cabinet was chosen to house a new Horizon 8900, as I came to realise I would need to choose only from a table capable of using the maxi-lift and large opening, so well worth checking thoroughly before ordering which tables suit your machine. Mine also had to be in White to suit furniture in the room it would be placed, so again, be sure and check out the colours available in your choice of lift required, they vary with the designs.
Luckily the QD is great for my purposes, I need room for quilting, soft furnishings and craft and this has such a LOT of table space - when all the leaves are up there is so much space! I have a large cutting mat and with the machine down inside the cabinet and the back leaf up it sits easily with plenty of room still left. The width also means I don't need to cut the yardage into smaller amounts unless I want to, there is room to fold fabric to the side of the table and/or use the side flap up as well if I need to. It comes with a set of drawers to match (just like office drawers) and they are NOT kitted out with the plastic cubbies like other Horn cabinets. However, I have found a particular cutlery tray fits just fine in the top two shallow drawers and can place scissors, rotary cutters and haby items in those. With a soft basket in the bottom drawer I am beginning to fit things in there too. There is an 'open' type cubby drawer, front left, which helps support the front flap and I have found it useful to place the knee lift and bigger items which would normally be hard to find a place for. The Perspex insert supplied is strong and thick and is a close fit, as it should be, but I was worried about scratching the silver fascia on the Horizon at first when sliding it in place. Now I have my machine tweaked in position it shouldn't be a problem. The needle position is central to where you sit so ideal placement for sewing.
The 8900 is a heavy machine and so quite a weight from the bottom cabinet position. I didn't like pressing on the top sides of the Horizon where the plastic lid cover is, so now have the knack of a hand to the side of the machine and one on the table shelf itself and this works well. There isn't an effort to move the lift, but just a bit of pressure is required to 'rock' it into activation and obviously it is new as well. Most of the time the machine will be in the top or 2nd position but it does need to go down if I want to cut large pieces of fabric. Otherwise, there is plenty of general cutting and assembling room without even having to lower the machine at all. The back leaf is on supports with castors, just like the main table. They are strong and work well and can all be locked in position. The table is very stable, built to last and well supported, no give at all when cutting with a rotary cutter. The colour White is a true white which matches well with the rest of the furniture in the room.
Unlike most of the other Horn cabinets the QD has an open sitting space when the flaps are closed, so when the machine is down it can be seen, though can easily 'curtain' this if required. Either way, it looks good and is a lovely piece of furniture. With most of it bought with a special offer at the time, I feel lucky to have it as a dedicated space for sewing.
The Horn Gemini cabinet is excellent quality and I would not be without it. My living room is revolutionised. Tidy! And it's so easy to get my sewing machine out and away now. Huge sewing area too. I love it.
Excellent product which was very thoroughly demonstrated by the delivery person covering all areas of the cabinet function. Fab
