Bernina 770QE PRO Quilting Machine

What's interesting is the 770 QE PRO is compatible with the embroidery module L, the firmware is built-in, but the embroidery module in not included and can be purchased at a later date to open up a 40 x 21 cm embroidery area. 

The 770QE is constantly monitoring thread tensions and active sensors inform us on screen of any thread abnormalities, like thread breaks for top and bobbin threads. Two spool pins are ready to use, and the user can select which twin needle size, ranging from 1mm to 8mm wide twin needles. 

BERNINA Dual Feed can quickly be swung into place to give you instant fabric feeding from the top and well as the bottom. Each difficult-to-manage fabric type can now be tamed and controllable, stitched with perfection. Use it for organza, silk or the other extreme, leather, or many layers of denim, and well as anything in between, like piecing patchwork blocks. 

Second generation of StitchPrecision technology is inside the Bernina 770QE PRO sewing machine for a quieter stitching experience, even at higher speeds of 1000 stitches-per-minute. From a personal point of view, my first experience using the 770QE PRO was an eye widening moment! I was astonished at how powerful, yet very controllable it was, it was silky smooth running, quite and sounded like a proper sewing machine should, leaving me with a very satisfied feeling after using it for some time.

Use Pinpoint Laser to precisely mark the exact needle entry point on the fabric for every needle position, ensuring accurate sewing, quilting.

Even the bobbin thread lasts longer than most, you will be using the jumbo bobbins, with full rotary BERNINA Hook system, together it gives 70% more thread for long stitching runs. The bigger bobbins are easier to handle and can not be inserted in to the bobbin case, the wrong way. 

The bobbin winder, has its own motor and can fill the larger bobbins in seconds if needed.

No more thread tension problems, Bernina 770 QE PRO has Adaptive Thread Tension built-in, this innovation helps give consistent stitches and constantly monitors, and continually adjusts thread tension in the background to give the finest stitching results. ADT is used, once the tension is set according to the fabric and thread used, the thread tension is constantly monitored and adjusted automatically, if needed, resulting in the finest Swiss stitching.

Everything about the 7-series is bigger, the icons on the screen, weight, height, its body size and the gap under the arm gives access to sew king-size quilts without issue. And when you are ready, a press of the button cuts the threads.

Using the BERNINA Stitch Regulator opens up further quilting techniques, not only will you free-motion like a pro, you can select one of the 3 modes the BSR offers, mode 3 is the additional mode and is perfect for basting the quilt pieces together, it can be set to stitch 2 or 4 stitches per inch, and it will hold multiple fabric and wadding layers together, before even thinking about starting any free-motion blocks.

• BSR Mode 1- The machine begins stitching as soon as you press the foot control or start button. The needle moves at a constant speed, and the machine adjusts the stitch speed to match how fast you are moving the fabric. 
• BSR Mode 2 - The machine only stitches when the fabric is in motion. When you stop moving the fabric, the needle stops moving with it, allowing you to reposition your hands or pivot at corners with precision. 
• BSR Mode 3 - This mode creates extra-long basting stitches that are easy to remove later. It comes with pre-programmed basting stitch lengths, such as two or four stitches per inch.  

Using the KickStart function, you can quilt without continually pressing the foot control, when used with the BSR foot. Settings on the touchscreen can activate the machine to sew at a constant speed without needing to keep pressure on the foot control. It can leave the user with a more relaxed quilting session, particularly on longer king-sized quilt making periods. 

Use the programmable foot control to action different functions as you press your heel on the foot control. Set it to anyone or all of the following:

• Needle Stop Up/Down: This is the default setting and a favourite for many quilters. A quick heel-kick tells the needle to either stop in the up position for removing your fabric, or stop in the down position for pivoting.
• Automatic Thread Cutting: With a heel-kick, the machine will neatly trim the threads for you, saving you from reaching for scissors.
• Securing Stitches: A single tap of your heel can activate a securing stitch (a few stitches in place) to tie off your thread at the end of a seam.
• Lifting the Presser Foot: Once you've finished sewing and secured your stitches, the heel-kick can be programmed to automatically cut the threads and raise the presser foot, leaving your hands free to move on to the next project.

It offers 1858 built in stitches, that count includes lettering. Each pattern is pre-programmed, but can be adjusted, or combined and saved to memory and most can be sewn at a speedy 1000 ssp, or sewn at a very slow pace. The needle, in conjunction with the DC motor, has a hammer mode function when needed for banging through heavyweight leather or many layers of denim.
