Developed to fill a gap for users wanting a sewing machine to sew many different projects not just quilting or clothes. This Necchi Q132A is the heavy duty version and boasts many features that give it that heavy duty tag.
For starters it has a stainless steel plate sewing bed and a strong aluminium internal chassis with Powerful 90 Watt motor. The Necchi Heavy Duty can stitch at 1000 spm using its electronic foot control, which provides best speed control, even when stitching at slow speed and the motor still receives full power, hence, needle piercing power is immense.
Added to that is the included extension table which clips in to place to extend the sewing area for larger items like curtains. Pull off the regular sewing bed which also has handy accessory storage drawer giving access to the sleeve arm for patching knees or elbows.
Even the bobbin winder is metal, often these are plastic.! Higher presser foot lifter, in fact two stage presser foot lift for bulky items.
Other functions should not be overlooked for example, the built-in needle threader, adjustable stitch width and length, three needle positions just as you would see in industrial swing needle models in factory environment. One step buttonholes and top loading bobbin with quick set threading which cut off the excessive thread.
The feed dogs can be lowered when doing hand darning/embroidery or stitching buttons on. 52 page Instruction book with handy sewing basics section.

This is the dream machine for me. What a great tool. Simple to use, robust, does what it says on the tin. I’m 59 and been used to ab old singer of my mums, which must be 50 years old. It served me well but was beginning to need repairing at a hefty cost. So bit the bullet after reading reviews on this machine. So versatile and with needle threader and table a bonus. Delivery and updates were brilliant. Cannot fault this company for service. Well done 5 stars. Made a lockdown lady very happy.
Machine is a nice weight, not too heavy too shift room to room.
Needle threader a great asset. Have used with fur fabric and it handled it well. Went onto finer fabric, but forgot to change needle and the thread bundled underneath; my fault. Quality thread and correct needle really do make a difference. Bobbin winding was easy.
Having a hard copy manual is great aswell. For future design, would like the higher presser foot position to stay up until released manually.
Would also like a level foot lock on a zipper foot. Just my preference.
I am a total novice and somewhat ham-fisted when undertaking any hand sewing.
My main interest was to make a face mask that actually fits my face and was comfortable to wear and was effective.
I have watched many youtube videos reviewing sewing machines, the most helpful was a review from the site " Make it with Mandie". She has a record of burnt out sewing machine motors.
It was her review and some research into the providence of the Necchi brand that clinched it.
Next, from whom should I purchase ?
Further research led me to "sewingmachinesales.co.uk" who offered a competitive price, next day delivery and 10 year warranty.
I found that hard to refuse and made the purchase.
Next day delivery with a 1 hour time slot.
Good informative manual ( a must have but not always supplied ) and away I went. The bobbin successfully wound ( on the second attempt ).
The default settings worked and I did manage to make some better fitting masks.
All in all, a rewarding experience and I highly recommend the robust Necchi Q132A and sewingmachinesales.co.uk
