Dylon Pre-Dye Colour Stripper 600g
When you have all the colours in the rainbow to choose from, it would be a shame to be limited by the colour of your fabric. With DYLON Pre-Dye you don’t have to, let us explain...
If you have a white, cream or pale coloured fabric, you needn’t worry, but if you have a dark or brightly coloured fabric you’d like to change to another colour, you'll need to remove that colour before you dye, for the best results.
DYLON Pre-Dye makes it pretty easy to do this, it lightens fabric to a neutral shade, creating a 'blank canvas' that you can dye any colour.
Full Instructions for use are included in packet. This is the large size pack at 600g which is the improved mix.
sorry to say this product just doesn t work.I thought because it said it was a new improved recipe it might work, but no.I work in garment dye and know my stuff,i usually get bulk stripped professionally but sometimes have one odd piece that needs to be stripped.
I m not quite sure how Dylon are getting away with selling something thats not fit for purpose.
We took quite a bit of time working this out but I must say we are very pleased with the results. We had a very yellow sofa cover (cotton) with 4 cushions and wanted to dye it red.
We weighed everything, the cover was 2.35KG and the cushion covers 2.65Kg. I ordered the pre-dye for both and Rosewood Red. Both went off perfectly and we did it all in a normal domestic (home) washing machine at Cotton 40 degrees.
For those nervous of getting the colour evenly spread, as we were looking at questions on the internet, do not worry. I think the key is to follow the instructions to the letter. Do not skip on the pre-dye phase and make sure you order enough for the weight they recommend. OK so it cost us £48.91 (2 pre-dye and 9 dye) plus salt but we now have a lovely new sofa cover and cushions that would have cost us significantly more to have recovered.
