Hobbs Heirloom cotton batting or sometimes called wadding was created at the request of Harriet Hargrave to meet the needs of quilters.
It is the only pre-packed unbleached cotton wadding that is easy to quilt by hand or machine and can be quilted up to 4" apart.
Heirloom cotton wadding shrinks 3-5%, and can be preshrunk to minimize undesired shrinkage. It is very clean cotton mixed with 20% polyester, lightly needlepunched and lightly resonated. This product has more loft than the typical cotton wadding, which gives more definition to the stitch than other 100% cottons.
We also have the option to select the fusible version, temporarily attach top and bottom fabric peices to the batting by using an iron. This is not permanent and can be peeled and reattached if needed. Same 80/20 as the none-iron Premium batting.
