This LARGE brush style felting mat measures 135 x 90 mm (5 1/2" x 3 1/2"). Use for applique by draping the base fabric over the mat and using a needle or needle tool to punch materials and mesh their fibers together using the barbed needles. Common materials used for applique are roving wool and felt. The bristles of the mat provide hardness and density for punching.
