This Bernette walking foot helps prevent layers of fabric from shifting and slipping while stitching. Great for matching while stitching stripes. Popular with quilters when using multiple fabric layers.
The even feed foot, sometimes referred to as the walking foot, is designed with a set of feed dogs (teeth) which allow the fabric to feed without slipping and eliminates the problem of the under layer of fabric coming up short at the end of the seam.
Using the walking foot for top-stitching will eliminate the fabric slippage problem and give perfect stitching every time.
