While sewing do the Fabric edges ravel? Finish the edge with a zigzag stitch - a time honoured method. This foot helps regulate the thread tension allowing the stitch to lie flatter. Works best with medium weight fabrics. Use this Elna overlock / overcast / overedge foot with an overcasting stitch to allow thread to wrap around the edge of the fabric to prevent fraying for great overedge stitching results.
