This foot is clear and has an open front. It makes viewing the needle, fabric and stitches while sewing much better. It is just the correct width and has a cut-out on its sole to allow thicker stitches to pass under with-out interfering with the decorative stitch patterns. It is best to use this foot when sewing applique, or other intricate stitching tasks.
