The hem foot, also known as the rolled hemmer, is used to stitch narrow hems on a variety of fabrics. We always need to sew a hem using a sewing machine at some point...and this is the perfect foot for it!
The rolled hem foot is designed with a scroll-shaped feeder on top and a straight groove on the underside which controls the width of the finished hem.
The foot will sew a narrow hem, called a rolled hem. The reason being, is the fabric is rolled over twice forming a tube. The foot guides the tube and the sewing machine sews the tube together to form a perfectly rolled hem.
