This popular foot is used while you are stitching free-motion work with a plastic quilting template.
This is the longer shank type as you can see in the image and fits selected modes as shown.
Fitting Instructions:
Lower the feed dog, or fit your feed cover plate.
Clip off the original foot and unscrew the foot holder shank.
Screw this ruler foot in to place, make sure the presser foot lifter lever is down, in the ready to sew position.
Adjust the ruler foot up/down so it hovers above the needle plate by between 0.5 mm to 3mm depanding on the material thickness you intend to stitch.
Enjoy, and start to sew some wonderfull symmetrical free-motion shapes.
