The design of the Silver sewing machine, the automatic buttonholer for the Silver Viscount 20HD auto buttonhole range actually measures the length of the buttonhole as it is being stitched. Every subsequent buttonhole is sewn to the exact same length. Only the starting point of each buttonhole needs to be marked.
