If you are having problems with the foot control of your Bernina sewing machine, there is a high chance the carbon pins have burnt away or cracked. These small carbon pins are spring-loaded and fitted into the sliding block, together they help control the sewing machine speed. This part is located inside most Bernina foot controls that uses the Cream (newer), Brown, Grey or Black (older) plastic foot control.
It is used in newer models that use the heel-kick LV1 type foot control. EG. 820,830,880 8-series, 7-series, 5-series, some 4-series, and some Artista models as listed.
