Simple things like the Intelligent Feed System (iSFS) make for a big different while your using this machine. The system simply moves the feed dog out of the way to below the needle plate, it means no more snagging the fabric on the feed dogs while positioning the fabric layers under the presser foot. As soon as you lift the presser foot the feed dogs lower, clever!

Imagine an embroidery unit that has its own aluminium internal frame, yes, the embroidery unit is a little heavier than others, but what you are getting is industrial strength using the itelligent Janome robotics to precisely position the embroidery frame for every stitch.

The largest hoop is so larger it needs to be manufactured from Carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers to give it strength and more importantly stability while holding the fabric in position. The added advantage of using carbon is it is very lightweight for an embroidery hoop of this size 28 x 46 cm (11" x 18.1")

It boasts 1230 built-in embroidery stitches with 850 sewing stitches, each embroidery can hold upto 64MB of .JEF, JEF+, JPX stitch data. New designs include wedding patterns and 15 new embroidery design catagories on screen.

On screen editing functions include; Resize, Rotate, Flip, Zoom, Duplicate, Combine, Sewing Order, Single Color Sewing, Color Grouping, Corner Layout, plus with the help of the included app AcuSketch and Windows (or MAC) Artistic JR embroidery software you can also convert an image in to a embroidery design with only a few clicks.

On the M17, Janome have incorporated a Stitch Regulator into their famous Acufeed system, so that not only do you get perfect feeding when you are quilting, you now get even stitches! While Stitch Regulators have been available in the sewing market for some time, there have never been one this good. Unlike the competition, the Janome AcuStitch Regulator (ASR) uses a sensor that hovers just above the material, giving it a clear angle on both the fabric and the movement. This means that you can slow down, speed up, turn, or pivot and have even perfect stitches. But thats not all! The ASR also works with Ruler Work Feet (another industry first), meaning that you can use any template and achieve professional results. Not to mention, the ASR also have a full complement of 5 x feet and attachments for almost every type of sewing available.
