Video - How to use the Braiding foot
The video shows an example on how to use the 7/9 hole braiding foot on a dual feed Pfaff sewing machine. Be creative and experiment while using this foot, you can really find some wonderful effects can be achieved.
Fitting and using the braiding foot
- Cut cords to desired length. Up to 9 different colours can be used.
- Thread cords through holes in foot from top to bottom.
- Pull the cords under presser foot and to the rear. Leave thread tails extending about 1-1/2 inch to 2 inches at the rear of the foot.
- Choose a decorative stitch to sew over 7 or 9 cords.
- Stitch: Optional decorative stitch, but it needs to be wide enough to sew over the full width. To practice, you could use the multiple zigzag stitch.
