Video - How to use the Couching Foot

The video shows the couching foot. Couching is often used to embellish and customize clothing. It is very effective and easy to do using the correct tools, for example this special foot. 

You can use many thicknesses of cord of wools for couching. Use the couching and braiding foot to attach cords, use matching, invisible or decorative embroidery thread.

Fitting and using the couching foot

1. This foot clips into place on the foot holder.
2. Insert cording, wool or tape from front of foot into eyelet guide and pull through front hole, and underneath and to the back of foot. 
3. Engage IDT (if available on machine).
4. Select stitch, i.e. zigzag, blind hem or decorative.
5. Sew your design by following design lines. Or sew random lines, swirls and waves for decorative textured effect.
   
   Stitch: 2-4mm narrow zigzag 
   
   Tension:  3+
