At its core is the One-Step Bernina Air Threader, which uses a gentle puff of air to thread both looper threads automatically, no tweezers, no stress. The colour touch screen gives you intuitive access to settings, step-by-step tutorials, and the innovative Bernina Expert Mode and Guided Mode, allowing you to sew with confidence whether you prefer full control or guided assistance. 

The L 890’s automatic stitch length and differential feed adjustments ensure professional results on every fabric, while the memory function lets you save 100 custom stitch settings for future use. With speeds up to 1,350 stitches per minute and ultra-quiet operation, you’ll experience power and Swiss precision without compromise.

The Bernina engineers have created two onscreen user modes, expert and guided, each can be selected depending on the user ability. In guided mode, you will be able to follow the step-by-step approach, and even view videos on most steps. Both selections will automatically set the thread tension, stitch length, differential feed and will inform you of which needles need to be threaded and any other setting if needed.

Additional features include a free arm for tubular projects, adjustable presser foot pressure, swing-out presser foot for easy threading, and ample workspace with bright LED lighting—perfect for detailed work. The needle can be set to stop in the upper or lower position.
