At the heart of this model is the exclusive Bernina Hook system, delivering flawless stitches at speeds up to 1,000 stitches per minute while maintaining quiet, smooth operation. How can it sew as fast? Bernina has engineered a well proven full rotary hook system, it is smooth running, the shafts and balanced and only rotate one direction.

The extra-large jumbo bobbin holds more thread, the larger size means it's easier to handle, plus you can't insert the bobbin the wrong way. Minimizing interruptions during quilting and long seams, you focus on creativity instead of rethreading.

What we Love About the 570QE

Some of the decorative stitches are delightful (hearts #2009, mushrooms #2034, pattern #616... and many more) and being able to sew them at a whooping 9 mm wide enhances their appearance, especially lettering, which looks best at 9mm. The 570QE has a triple stitch function key, to make most regular decorative stitches look more defined, it produces the same stitch but using a 2-forward and 1-reverce sequence, for added wow appearance.

Needle up/down, start/stop, knot tie-off, thread cutting keys are all with in easy reach on the front panel, to use as needed. The simple-to-use needle threader, helps when threading the needle eye. Winding the jumbo bobbins on the self powered bobbin winder, means you can wind bobbins while sewing a seam. 

A second bobbin pin is accessible, with a quick double press, and it pops up and gives us the ability to sew with twin needles. The 570QE has a twin needle program, you can select to use 1.0 mm up to 8.0 mm wide twin needles on screen.  In fact, you can also select triple needle function or hemstitch wing needles. You can also choose which needle plate you intend to use, regular 9 mm or 5.5 mm, punch, or cutting needle plate.

The 570QE give us the option to program the action of the heel-kick foot control function, a press on your heel, on the programmable foot control be set to:

• Automatically cut threads
• Lift or lower the needle
• Raise the presser foot
• Automatically sew 4 securing stitches

Lettering combinations can be saved to the memory and recalled at a later date. Add names to gift labels, towels, or "Sewing By" tags, the double-block, comic and italics, sew lovely at 9mm, there's even a "Quilt text" option, as well as punctuation and numbers.

Sew wonderful buttonholes. Each buttonhole leg is sewn in the same direction, which the gives ultimate buttonhole leg balance. Because the LCD screen has a ration of 1:1, you hold the button close to the screen and adjust the button image on the screen to the same size as your button, and hey-presto you can sew the perfect buttonhole for your button, every time, choose from stretch, round end, keyhole, tailored, of regular buttonholes.

The Bernina 570QE sewing machine come with the BSR foot and also features the Free Hand System (FHS) with a knee lifter, semi-automatic needle threader, and programmable memory so you can save your custom stitch settings. The extended free arm offers 8.5" of space to the right of the needle, giving quilters the room they need to manage larger quilts with ease.

With the Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR) included, use it with straight or zigzag, you’ll enjoy perfectly even stitches when free-motion quilting, no matter your experience. Two modes are available:

• BSR mode 1 - Can be controlled with the start stop button, or foot control. When you start moving the fabric, the machine accelerates and the needle keeps moving even when you stop moving the fabric. Best for advanced users.
• BSR mode 2 - Can be controlled with the start stop button, or foot control. The needle only sews when the fabric is being moved under the BSR foot, if you stop moving the fabric, the machine will stop sewing. Best for beginners.

The presser foot pressure, can quickly be adjusted by the large numbered dial on the machine head. It is large and easy to turn when needed for thicker materials, especially, if the fabric starts to bulge in front of the foot as you are sewing. For free motion tasks, the feed dogs can quickly be lowered by using the button on the right side of the machine, close to the USB slot.

Dual feed is built in for difficult to sew fabrics, or it can be used for piecing patchwork, or regular sewing. If fact I use it all the time, it offers a better sewing experience, relating to the movement of the fabric under the presser foot. Yet it can quickly be disengaged and tucked out the way if required.

Sew hand-look quilting stitches, the special program is built in, in fact there is a folder dedicated to a selection of 70 quilt and patchwork sewing stitches.
