Why choose the Brother Innovis NV1300 from us?
The Innov-is NV1300 sewing machine is a new edition to the Brother range. It's computerised and packed with features. For example, after stitching a seam, all that is needed, is a press on the "thread trimming" button and hey-presto both the top and bottom threads have been cut and trimmed. No need to get the scissors out, plus it is a big time saver when needing to sew many patchwork pieces together.
The whole machine is very smooth, even when running at great speed. The feed unit is the advanced square system, so just like the hook it rotates in the same direction making it a great quilter's sewing machine with far less vibration that some other machine's often have.
Stitch options are printed inside the top cover. Each can be selected using the touch sensitive keys. The stitch is shown on screen where you can adjust the width or length or even the sideways needle position when top stitching a seam. Choose from 5 alphabet styles, satin stitches, cross stitches, quilting stitches including the hand-look quilting and stippling stitches and ofcourse buttonholes and dressmaking stitches. However, if that is not enough, you can even create your stitches by using the "My customer stitch" function. There is no end to what can be achieved on this new Brother NV1300.
Key features I have not already mentioned:
In total the Innovis NV1300 has 184 built-in stitches. A memory and both upper and lower case lettering.
Automatic one-step buttonhole in 10 styles.
Large 210mm work space to the right of the needle. Ideal for large sewing projects such as quilts, curtains, etc.
My Custom Stitch function - This I really like on a machine at this price. It allows you to design your own decorative stitches and save them to memory for future use.
Advanced needle threading, plus lay in threading and fully automatic top thread tensions.
Bright LED lighting lights the full work area.
Drop-in bobbin, which when in position, cuts the thread end to the correct length, ready to start stitching.
Handy knee lift which will free up your hands to control larger fabric pieces.
Lock stitch button. At the touch of a button automatic tie-off stitches can be easily sewn at the beginning and end of seams.
Slide speed control - adjust the sewing speed from slow to fast. This can also be used to adjust the stitch width whilst sewing.
Sideways feed system can sew in 4 directions.
Pattern mirror imaging will create a mirror image of your stitch pattern.
Included in the accessories:
Blind stitch foot
Button fitting foot
Automatic buttonhole foot
Bobbin x 4
Twin needle spool pin

The whole process of ordering and delivery was excellent and very fast - ordered Thursday evening, and it arrived Saturday morning.
I am getting to know the machine and already love it. I thought it might be intimidating, and I have not had a Brother before, but all seems quite intuitive, and the manual is well organised and clear.
It stitches beautifully, and automatic tension control (which can be overridden) is just wonderful. I also find it excellent for free motion work, having purchased a suitable foot. I am loving the threading and the fast bobbin insertion, as well as the automatic cutting of threads at the end. I am getting used to the knee presser lift which is very useful. It’s heavy but I can lift it. Altogether I am thrilled with this machine.
I am impressed with the NV1300. Once you have spent some time familiarising yourself with all the parts you will be sewing with ease in no time. Never having had a machine with an auto threader, I just wonder how I managed for so long before! Buy one - you will not be disappointed.
I have had this machine for a few weeks now and I am so pleased with it! It is really easy to use, has so many different features accessed easily from the touch screen and stops and starts sewing with the touch of a button!
And best of all, it copes brilliantly with multiple, thick, layers of fabric.
In addition the service of this company is brilliant! I received it the very next day after placing my order. (Originally Posted on January 28, 2019)
I bought the Brother NV1300 after reviewing different sewing machines and after using it I am so happy to have made the right choice. The auto threader and thread cutter are smooth and the machine is so easy to operate. This is a really good machine with lots of great features. I love it. (Originally Posted on January 21, 2018)
My previous machine was Brother, so the NV1300 is familiar in many ways. However, it is far more sophisticated and extremely smooth running, it has a much easier needle threader to my current machine and a very useful auto cutter. It's early days so I am sure there is lots to discover and I haven't been able to test all of the stitches yet. The machine is very heavy so not easily transported but will keep my old machine for such times when I attend courses. All in all a lovely machine and I am very pleased with my choice. A totally amazing machine, worth every penny. Definitely must be, in my opinion, one of the best machines Brother has made in years. Everything you want from a sewing machine the NV1300 has it as well as extras, such as, sideways feeding on straight and zig zag stitches - this is a Godsend when mounting difficult appliqués! A very sturdy machine, heavier than most Brother machines, but it is portable enough with a good strong carry handle. I use this as my main machine and it stays on the table in the room and I use my other Brother to take to classes. This machine definitely is a MUST for any sewer irrespective of how good you are, you will learn as a beginner and learn as an advanced sewer with this machine. Will go through heavy fabrics with 6 ounce wadding in between with total ease. The utility stitches are easily recognized on the front control panel and can be changed with a push of a button, the decorative and satin stitches will blow you away and the sideways stitching increasing the width of the stitches is totally amazing. It is longer than most machines, but this is due the long arm which allows you sew a double or king size quilt (easily maneuvered or rolled under the arm), gone are the days when you had to contort the quilt to get it through the machine. I made lino shopping bags the first day I had this machine without a problem. A definite for any type of sewer, from beginner to advanced. In my opinion this machine is hard to beat. Lovely sewing machine. Very quiet to use. Not used all the functions yet, but have used the sewing machine for quilting. The arm space is really generous. Initially had problems with auto threader, but think this was mainly because I was used to threading my previous machine. Great buy and would definitely recommend it. Need now to buy a trolley to fit it in. (Originally Posted on September 24, 2015)
