Top model of the new Swiss design Bernette B05 series. The new Bernette Academy uses the latest engineering to create a strong, robust sewing machine with electronic speed control and for a limited timescale, includes a bonus quilt/sew extension table and 12 presser foot package.

A strong machine with a wide and stable foot print, the Bernette 05 Academy is ready to tackle any stitching project. The added bonus is the extended table and extra sewing feet, which together make the b05 Academy the complete package.

It has many useful features as listed further below, but the forgotten functionality are simple things like, the handy quick access reverse lever just above the needle, the needle position adjustability option for getting a seem or rolled hem stitch just where you want it, or the option to change the stitch length while stitching.

Easy to use and thread by following the threading paths, use the built-in threader to help pass the thread through the needle eye. Drop the bobbin in from the top and a left and right and the excess thread end is cut off, leaving you ready to sew with out needing to have both threads under the presser foot.

With a huge array of presser feet you will need somewhere to store them, the Bernette 05 Academy offer such a place; the flip open sewing bed gives access to foot storage area. Remove the sewing bed to use the sleeve arm.

The bobbin is loaded from the top and has a see-through cover. It has a full rotary hook unit with smooth fabric feed. Threading is simple thanks to the built-in needle threader, It really is a delight to use the Academy.

Helped by the powerful heavy duty motor unit and electronic foot speed controller, It sews pretty fast at 1100 spm, yet is very easy to control the speed thanks to clever electronics. It is one of the speediest domestic sewing machines around. You can set it to sew at half speed, and It also comes with a finger guard for the more cautious or younger beginner sewers.
