Elastic allows fabric to stretch

Elastic has numerous uses and allows fabric to be stretched. Apart from tubular elastics, there are two main types used by dressmakers, the ribbed, anti-roll elastics keep their original width when stretched and are mainly used in waistbands, as you stretch regular elastic you will see it becoming narrower, which often causes it to roll inside the wasteland tube, narrower widths work best.
