This machine was delivered quickly. Excellent service. The machine is easy to use and there is plenty of space for quilting. However I feel it is let down by the poor quality of the foot pedal, this is hollow with a large gap/ hole in the bottom. It is a shame as I really like the machine itself. (STAFF COMMENT: "The hollow space underneath is a design feature that allows you to store the foot control cable away safely and in a tidy fashion")

Last week I purchased a Silver Vicount 9500e because my wife wanted to upgrade from her old basic machine. She chose this machine even though she had never used a computerised machine before. After refering to the instruction manual, she started working the machine, and fell in love with it, because of the simplicity, and brilliant results in all aspects, that was achieved. The Vicount 9500e is both sturdy and well designed with many extras, at a very resonable price. My wife says that she would recommend this machine to both beginners and experienced machinists. I could not have asked for anything more from Sewing Machines Sales, from ordering the machine to delivery was less than 24 hours, communication was brilliant, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and very professional. Many Thanks. Best Regards, B.Jay.

I bought this sewing machine without seeing it first which was a bit of a risk due to the price. I am thrilled with the Elna lotus. I have been looking around for a new machine since my old elna lotus ( one of the small metal ones) which I have had and loved for thirty years just ran out of steam. Nothing had come close in comparison & I had another machine to keep me going until I found the one to replace my old favourite. I was so excited when I found this on the sewingmachine-sales site & knew it had to be the one for me. The machine feels well made and is so easy to use thanks to a clear manual, you just tell it what to do, press the buttons & away it goes. It feels odd at first not using a foot pedal but you soon get used to it. The speed control on the front of the machine is very smooth & accurate. All the buttons respond immediately when pressed. I have had endless fun doing button holes with the huge foot, it's a very clever foot. All in all I am thrilled to bits with the purchase. For general sewing ie dressmaking, soft furnishings etc, I really don't think I could get better. The service I had from sewingmachine-sales was great too. The price was equally the cheapest I found but the next day, free delivery was exactly that. Fantastic!

I received my Singer Quantum last week. I have been a keen sewer all my life but have never had a new sewing machine, always second hand. I am amazed how technology has advanced with a machine that is all singing, all dancing, I don't even need to use the foot pedal or cut the threads. I can do so much with this machine, not only utility stitches but decorative and quilting, even free hand. It's wonderful with all the accessories I need. It's also whisper quiet to use and light enough to carry around. Delighted with my purchase and customer after sales service.

I bought this for classes as my 7700 Horizon was too heavy and delicate to be moved every month. I think is is a great little machine, ideal for a beginner and well priced. Quilting is easy as the 1/4 inch foot from the 7700 fits this machine - you need to move the needle slightly to avoid it hitting the metal foot - just turn the width dial and it's done - no problem. Only thing missing is that there isn't an extending table and you can't buy one separately (looks like I need to get DH on to making me one in his workshop). A very good buy.

This machine has got it completely right. It has just enough bells and whistles to make it a dream to use, but not so many that the price goes through the roof or you are left with a lot of functionality you just don't use. Pros:- Very quiet, easy change needle plate, good selection of stitches up to 9mm wide. Lock off function, to lock off stitches but without going backwards and forwards, large foot controller give more control and comfort. The list just goes on! Cons:- Very few, but it depends on what your needs are, it does not have the longest space between the needle and the machine (not as long as the horizon for example) but it is a decent amount and I can with little manipulation quilt a full size quilt on it. Only two hoops, but they are fairly large. Accufeed:- This machine does not have the Janome built-in dual feed system, is that a con, in my opinion, no. I had a machine with the built-in dual feed and I found it got in the way. I would much rather just attached a walking foot when I need to. All in all if you are looking for a sewing/embroidery machine that is well made, has all the functionality you need as opposed to that which you might like and is reasonably priced, then I would recommend that you go for the MC9900

`Thank you for a wonderful service. Delivery was prompt and communication throughout faultless. I am very pleased with my new machine. I received the upgraded 7467 model instead of free gifts and it is brilliant. I have already sewn all the things that had been waiting around for ages! It is quiet, easy to use, I read through the manual and was worried about a couple of things ( like threading the needle )as my old model was 37 years old, and this was different, however the instructions were very clear and i was sewing within 30 minutes of receiveing delivery! My only complaint, which is the same for alll machines is the short length of wire when you plug it in, why do manufacturers not make longer leads, not everyone has sockets everywhere, I have had to buy an extension lead, but on the whole I give it 9.5 out of 10. I would definately buy from Sewing machine sales again, Good price, good service, rare today.

I have now had time to use my Janome XL601. I have made a window seat cover including piping and a huge pair of lined curtains. Firstly I need to say that my old machine was a 62 year old electric Singer which is and has been magnificent to use for many many years. I decided I wanted a lighter machine for ease of handling and to try a few more ways of sewing; after much deliberation I chose the Janome. It took a little bit of getting used to mainly as the pressure foot and feed dogs were much lighter than my old machine and so the material moved around as I sewed. This was sorted out by my changing the way I fed the material through which is far more fiddly than I am used to. On just two layers of lining material I couldn't find the right tension to sew smoothly and I am presuming that I will sort that out with time. And strangely the other thing I found quite hard to get used to was the glare off the white machine from the light. The foot pedal was really light weight and moved around so easily that I couldn't find it straight away with my foot. I loved the ease of changing feet and stitch and on the whole it was enjoyable to use. I guess that as this is my first modern machine there was always going to be a bit of a shock in the differences but I am sure that I will eventually love my Janome as much as my Singer.

I have searched the internet shops and ebay for a sewing machine that would be suitable not having sewn anything since being at secondary school a very long time ago!!. I researched and found this model on you tube being displayed and showing how to use it and it looked simple enough and so I bought one. It is every bit as easy as it said. I have wound the bobbin, attached the spool and tried all the stitches and it is perfect, got a free gift as well scissors cottons and the unpicker is brilliant I love it, thanks
