Some models combine overlock stitches together with a cover hem stitch. These models usually use 5 threads, however, some use even more. In fact up to 8 threads.!

Having never used an over locker before, it was quite daunting opening the box. Read the book, missed valid points and ended up having to rethread from scratch. Scary, but I did it!! This was probably for the best as now I feel more confident. I have used it on endless scraps and love the way it stitches. Today I used it nearly entirely on a top I made and am thrilled with the results. The price was good too.

Fantastic machine. Easy to thread. Very easy to use. Girlfriend is over the moon with this machine. Very good quality. Would highly recommend this machine to anyone looking for a home overlocker and perhaps small shop use as we have had no problems regardless to what material we use on it. Very easy to identify tension needed via test material and to adjust accordingly.

As a complete beginner I did my research and narrowed my choice down to the Babylock Imagine. I have not used it yet but have studied the manual and bought my threads and fabric. It is a sturdy fairly compact machine with an easy to understand manual. I also made use of the Internet videos (YouTube) and was able then ask questions and advice from various sources. I'm looking forward to many satisfied years with my new machine. If you need further advice speak to the people at Sewing Machine Sales they are always most helpful.

I bought the Brother 1034d for the Sanquhar Sewing Bee. It is an excellent machine for beginners and experienced sewers. I love the way it has a built in rolled hem which will come in handy for some of our Summer and Christmas makes. I also can't wait to show the ladies how cool it is gathering a frill onto a cushion in one pass through the machine. A good overlocker reasonably priced and the free feet a bonus. The machine arrived the next day, a big thank you to Sewing Machine Sales
