Some models combine overlock stitches together with a cover hem stitch. These models usually use 5 threads, however, some use even more. In fact up to 8 threads.!

I've never used an overlocker before but this machine and it's instruction book made it easy to get started. The result is a more professional looking finish. The only comment I would make is that the booklet didn't make it clear that the thread tree had to be fully raised so I consequently had to re-thread the machine.

This is our second Janome. Always been impressed with the build quality. The service and delivery were bob-on with the machine turning up at the door exactly when it was meant to, the day after I'd ordered it.

This is the best over- locker that I have purchased and I am really pleased with it. The delivery was fast, it was with me before I knew it. The machine has lived up to its previous reviews. It's easy to thread and to use. A good sturdy, compact machine which looks good and performs well. Wish I'd bought one sooner!. Will use this company again too for its speedy and reliable service.

A very speedy service. Machine ordered Wednesday afternoon and it was delivered here in ***** on Saturday morning. I've never used an overlocker before but I am already delighted with it. It makes everything look more professional. The Brother 1034d Overlocker, after the initial fright, proved to be very easy to use. The threading instructions looked daunting but after accidentally breaking a thread (my fault as I didn't lift the thread tree) I successfully re-threaded it using the step by step instructions with no problems.

Oh my goodness, what stellar service! I ordered at 6pm and I got it two days later. I got an email and a text informing me a time slot of delivery to the hour. Within half an hour I was up and sewing with no problems after some threading help from youtube and a tension setting suggestion from a fellow owner. Its not a loud machine and seems to come with suction cups on the bottom as it seems to cling to my desk (I only have enough room for one machine at a time). My parents tell me its no louder than my regular machine and as someone that uses industrial overlockers in her college classes trust me when I say its MUCH quieter! I can't recommend this machine and this company enough, go buy one!

Purchased this item to replace my wife's old Newhome overlocker which had lasted 20 years. She is very impressed with the up to date functions of this new machine and the ease of threading. She also thought the instruction manual was precise and easy to use. She is looking forward to many happy and productive hours of sewing.

I am very happy with my purchase. What I particularly liked was the fact that the overlocker was ready to use straight out of the box so enjoyed a little play by turning an old Arran jumper into a cardigan and cutting a worn towel into pieces for cleaning rags. Simple work but one has to start somewhere and it was after all just playing. The overlocker cut beautifully and stitching was perfect!
