I've had this sewing machine for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it!!!! It's easy to thread with it's automatic needle threader and drop in bobbin. It has a variety of different feet, two sets of needles+ one twin needle and an instructional manual and DVD, Brother have made this so easy for the beginner, a word of caution, read the manual, play about with the sewing machine and get to know it before you start on a big project. The XR27NT and the XR37NT are basically the same machine except the XR37 has 10 more stitches, but the set up is the same for both sewing machines, The XR27NT has a soft dust cover and the XR37NT has a hard cover. When you wind the bobbin you just wind the thread around the bobbin a few times (clock-wise) and the excess is cut off at the bottom of the holder. Then, put the bobbin in the drop in bobbin case, wrap the thread over the tension gauge, pull it to the left in the slot and that cuts off the excess thread, just thread the needle using the automatic needle- threader and you're ready to sew, you don't even need to draw the lower thread to the top, the machine does it all for you, it couldn't be easier, enjoy sewing!!

Nice machine, similar to my old one so easy to learn to use. Have tried out the business of using the start button instead of the foot pedal - need more practice! This machine does everything I need and is a solid machine. Highly recommend.
